About this Trip
Current status: Museum of the Future temporarily closed to visitors at the beginning of September 2026 for a complete renewal of its exhibitions and visitor journey. The museum says it plans to reopen in the first quarter of 2027. New ticket sales are expected closer to reopening.
Located beside Jumeirah Emirates Towers on Sheikh Zayed Road, the Museum of the Future is one of Dubai’s most recognisable landmarks. The 77-metre building was designed by Killa Design and engineered by Buro Happold. Its stainless-steel facade is formed from 1,024 panels and carries Arabic calligraphy by Mattar bin Lahej.
The museum’s circular form represents humanity, the green mound represents Earth, and the central void represents the unknown future. Before the 2026 renewal, the visitor journey combined immersive exhibitions, theatre-like environments and interactive experiences focused on space, ecology, technology, health and human wellbeing. The museum has confirmed that the renewed 2027 experience will introduce a new narrative, exhibitions and spaces rather than simply reopening the previous displays unchanged.
